Records Management Program
The University of North Texas is committed to maintaining a comprehensive records management program in accordance with federal and state law. The UNT Records Management Program is administered by the UNT Records Management Analyst, working with the Records Management Representatives from each university unit.
Records management is the application of management techniques to the creation, use, maintenance, retention, preservation and disposition of records for the purposes of improving the efficiency of organizational operations.
The mission of the UNT Records Management Program is to:
- Administer a comprehensive records management program for UNT Denton, UNT Dallas and the UNT System;
- Promote sound records management principles and initiatives;
- Maintain accurate and active records retention schedules of all university records;
- Provide consultative records management assistance and oversight to all units;
- Deploy timely records management training and information;
- Form strategic partnerships with management, state agencies and other organizations to create ongoing awareness, efficiency and innovation.
